Nether wart (also known as Nether stalk) is a plant grown in the Nether. It can be found within Nether fortresses around staircases. Nether wart can be planted on soul sand, where it will grow. Nether wart is the most critical ingredient in brewing, being used to make the awkward potion, which is used as the base for all other potions. (Note: Using a Fermented Spider Eye, you can create the Potion of Weakness without Nether Wart.
